If you have not picked up your June 2016 copy of New Hampshire Magazine yet, I urge you to do so. Beyond all the other great stuff in there, I’ve got a piece on getting a tattoo. That’s right. Forty-five years old and just getting started. The design’s been something I’ve had in mind since I was a teenager, and much like Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises, it’s evolved in what it means to me throughout my life, but never ceased to intrigue me. Basically it’s a visual meditation on the tree of knowledge of good and evil, from Genesis. It’s had secular and sacred meanings for me throughout the years.
After looking at the work of lots of local artists, I settled on Randy Burnham over at Bittersweet Tattoo here in Manchester. Highly recommend.
