According to a recent note from the race director, “This year we have two of road racings greatest ever ‘American Superstars’ attending as our special guest – 4 time Boston & New York Marathon winner Bill Rodgers & 1972 Olympic Marathon Gold Medal Winner Frank Shorter. ” They will be at a couple of the pre-race events, the free 5K and casual pizza dinner that Friday, the pasta dinner Saturday and the race expo. Then on Sunday they’ll be running on the “99 Restaurant Has Beens” marathon relay team. Hoping to get one of the free race posters they will be signing on Saturday! Also, just heard the race registration is closed – sold out at 4,200 registrants for the marathon, half-marathon, 10K and marathon relay. Getting psyched!
