I love free Web tools.  Even when I have the paid versions, it’s nice to have a backup.  For example, while I work in Dreamweaver for most development projects, I find Filezilla’s free ftp client much more stable for getting my files to a remote server when my Web connection gets iffy.  And I know lots of folks who run Google’s free analytics along with a paid stats program.  Along those lines, the Six Revisions blog has a nice list today:30 Useful Open Source Apps for Web Designers.
