My morning email newsletter from Sitepoint, a publisher of Web design and technology books, featured a piece about a book promotion they're running using Twitter. They are giving away The Art & Science of CSS for free as a digital download – - you just need to sign up to follow them on Twitter. Which isn't exactly onerous, since if I'd known they had a Twitter account, I probably would have followed them anyway. Great way to promote the Twitter feed, and to promote their catalog. Perfectly aimed at the target audience. I subscribed to the Twitter feed and got a direct message via Twitter with a link to download the book a few minutes later.
