Twitter has launched a new site, Election 2008, that filters "hundreds of Twitter updates per minute to create a new source for gathering public opinion about the presidential election and a new way for you to share your thoughts."  According to A VC, "First, and most importantly, you don't have to be a twitter member or user to use election.twitter.com. For many people, it will simply be a way to quickly check in on the zeitgeist of the election." It's definitely an interesting experiment, but after watching for a few minutes I can't help but get the sense that it's: a. a narrowly selected and pretty homogenous "zeitgeist" of the election; b. it moves so fast it just blurs into chatter for me, like listening to three radio stations at once…
