From yesterday, a good piece on confession in the Union Leader. The first graph really says sums it up nicely: "Puzzled by the national obsession to confess dark secrets on television talk shows and in tell-all books, the Roman Catholic Church still offers its ancient antidote: confession." The pastor of our church, Father Marc, is quoted:  "… More and more people go to counselors. They go to psychiatrists. The human heart, the human soul is looking for liberation. [...] People realize that they need to share what's on their minds. We do it in America in so many ways, whether it be through Oprah Winfrey or so many of these talk shows where people will go on and will empty their hearts and their souls in front of these millions of people. And yet they say the can't go to confession."
