Sofia and I chill and check out the magnificent view of the Route 100 Stowe/Waterbury valley area after the 1.65 mile climb to the summit of Stowe Pinnacle trail. Kris carried Sofia most of the way in the pack and I carried David most of the way on my shoulders. That’s one way to turn a fairly easy hike into a moderately strenuous one. The fall foliage was pretty but not as developed as it should be at this point, thanks to the fact we haven’t yet had a serious frost. (And I for one am not complaining.) On a side note: those of you who know me know the beard is something I grow out every once in a while to see if I can now grow a beard. The answer is inevitably, no. But in this picture I see something I’ve never seen before — as I continue to age, the lines develop on my face, the beard and mustache grow in, the expression, the sun and shadow … does this picture look a wee bit like Geraldo Rivera? And is that good or bad? And either way, shave or not?
